Title I Agreement

MISSION STATEMENT: The staff of Lorane Elementary School is committed to working together to provide a quality learning environment in which all children can learn and develop to their maximum potential.

This Title I Learning Compact defines the commitments for the school staff, parents, and students to work together toward improved student achievement in meeting state and district academic standards.

TITLE I READING SPECIALIST
Students are provided with an opportunity to achieve. Therefore, I will do the following:

  1. Provide quality teaching and leadership.
  2. Strive to address the individual needs of each child.
  3. Communicate with you about your child’s progress through parent conferences and/or progress reports, to the extent practicable in a language that family members can understand. 
  4. Treat your child with dignity and respect.

STUDENT
It is important that I do the best that I can. Therefore, I will do the following:

  1. Always try to do my best work, and work carefully.
  2. Come to school each day, on time and ready to work.
  3. Complete homework assignments.
  4. Bring completed work and all other important papers home to my parents.
  5. Show respect for others.  
  6. Be responsible for my own behavior.
  7. Ask my teachers for help when I need it.
  8. Believe that I can learn and I will learn.

PARENT/CAREGIVER
It is important to have my child reach his/her full academic potential. I understand that my participation in my child’s education will improve his/her achievement. I agree to fulfill the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:

  1. Provide a quiet place for my child to work.
  2. Review assignments with my child.
  3. Make sure my child attends school regularly.
  4. Spend at least 15 minutes enjoying reading with my child each day.
  5. Attend school functions, conferences and activities.
  6. Monitor my child’s use of technology.
  7. Offer help and advice when my child asks for it.
  8. Be a role model of reading and writing for my child.
